Founder and CEO of Inner Vision International Inc., Dwayne Bryant focused on progressing, growth and motivation. He spoke Jan. 24 at Jonas T. Kennedy Center in the annual ceremony that kicks off the spring semester.
“Learn how to be unstoppable,” Bryant said of his first lesson.
Within each lesson, he presented and highlighted several facts. He shared things such as “the keys to visionary and transformational leadership.”
“Have the strength to persevere,” Bryant said. “Failure can never be an option.”
Bryant reminded the audience of their ancestors and how they had an indomitable spirit.
“Grit, courage or resolve of character, perseverance and passion for the long-term goal … have an indomitable spirit,” he said.
Generations before faced struggled as students, he said. They kept going and never gave up. The same must apply to today’s students.
“Through heartbreak and dealing with fake friends, you did not give up,” he said. “Whenever someone has the audacity to doubt your abilities and question if you could become successful or not, you got to let them know that you have grit.”
Bryant’s lesson two: “Talk is cheap. Everybody that talks about success doesn’t make it. If you want to be successful, it’s what you do, not what you talk about doing.”
Lesson three: “If you want to be successful, do not pursue success, focus on creating value. And are the things you’re doing now creating value?”
Lesson four: “Your most valuable asset is time. Don’t waste time.”
