First Year Experience

First Year Experience (FYE) is an academic program that welcomes you to Â鶹´«Ã½ and helps you make the most of your undergraduate experience. FYE encompasses academic advising, community-building activities, assemblies and introduction to a range of academic resources to help you succeed in your college career.

Honors College

The Alice Carson Tisdale Honors College is a prestigious college within Â鶹´«Ã½ University that offers an academically rigorous learning environment for high-achieving continuing students and first-year students who arrive at Â鶹´«Ã½ clearly prepared for success in their college-level work. The Honors College enables Â鶹´«Ã½ to confer special recognition upon this group of exceptional students who consistently stand out among their peers in terms of academic excellence, demonstrated leadership and service to the community.

Panther STEPS (Students in Transition Engaged and Preparing for Success)

Required for first-year students, Â鶹´«Ã½ University’s groundbreaking Panther STEPS (Students in Transition Engaged and Preparing for Success) program helps you transition to college by providing the essential foundations of a liberal arts education. You will gain competency and confidence in the fundamental skills of scholarship and be introduced to the techniques of critical and analytical thinking. At the same time, Panther STEPS looks to foster a learning community where the requisite skills for engaged leaning are first identified, articulated, nurtured and developed.

Summer Programs

Â鶹´«Ã½ operates one six-week summer session. The maximum academic load is 9 semester credit hours; however, exceptions are made for students enrolled in a four-hour course. Summer term grades are calculated on the same basis as those issued during regular sessions of the institution. In addition, the AP Summer Institute is an intensive five-day professional development session offered at Â鶹´«Ã½. Facilitated by College-Board endorsed instructors, the AP Summer Institute helps teachers enhance teaching skills and content knowledge.

Academic Advising at Â鶹´«Ã½ University is offered to support your academic progress toward earning your college degree. Your academic advisor will help guide your educational decisions about your academic and career goals through frequent contact during your matriculation at Â鶹´«Ã½.
