Accreditation

Â鶹´«Ã½ University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award baccalaureate and master's degrees. The University is approved by the University Senate of the United Methodist Church for listing as a United Methodist Church related institution. 

  • Programs in the School of Education are accredited by the  (CAEP) and by the . 
  • Programs in the School of Business Administration are nationally accredited by the  (ACBSP) to offer the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and in Organizational Management. 
  • The Â鶹´«Ã½ University Department of Music is an accredited institutional member of the  (NASM).
  • The Â鶹´«Ã½ University Department of Chemistry is recognized by the United States  (ACS) as offering ACS Approved Degree Programs.
  • Â鶹´«Ã½ University's Undergraduate Program in Computer Science is accredited by the   (ABET).
  • The baccalaureate degree program in nursing (RN to BSN) at Â鶹´«Ã½ University is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education ().

Every ten years, all accredited colleges in the southern states must be reaffirmed to demonstrate that they continue to meet the accreditation standards of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Â鶹´«Ã½ University was first accredited by SACS in 1948. The next reaffirmation is 2032.

SACSCOC reaffirmed Â鶹´«Ã½ University’s accreditation on December 6, 2022. The University maintains the standards specified by "The Principles of Accreditation" and notifies SACSCOC of all substantive changes.
