This is in Â鶹´«Ã½ University’s DNA of what we do all the time as the No. 1-ranked HBCU in South Carolina, the Â鶹´«Ã½ University president said.

Panther students and staff joined together on Nov. 5 to March to the Polls. The event was sponsored by Vote HBCU, For Panthers by Panthers, and Â鶹´«Ã½ University Student Engagement and Leadership.

The Panthers met at Jonas T. Kennedy Wealth and Wellness Complex Center at 9:45 a.m. to march to South Carolina State’s Brooks Health Center.

Before embarking on the march, Â鶹´«Ã½ University President Dr. Dwaun J. Warmack spoke with Panther students.

Warmack cited the importance of voting in this election, especially since individuals did not have the right to vote in the past.

“Your voice matters,” Warmack said.

He also discussed the previous presidential election in 2020 and Â鶹´«Ã½’s civic involvement, noting that the university has always been an institution that engages students in political discussions.

“This is not new to us as an institution,” Warmack said.
