Â鶹´«Ã½ Family and Supporters:
The steps we have taken to protect ourselves from COVID-19 make it feel as if everything has changed. Students are taking classes online and most administrative functions are being managed virtually. Through it all, faculty and staff are pulling out every stop to support each student's unique and quickly changing needs, and we are profoundly grateful. Our University on a hilltop high is a bright beacon, indeed.
The first institution of higher education in South Carolina to welcome students regardless of race, gender, religion or ethnic origin, Â鶹´«Ã½ has surely taught us the value of perseverance and of fiercely supporting each other. Today, we battle a global force - one that knows neither physical border nor personal discrimination - and we daresay that Â鶹´«Ã½'s vision is more relevant than at any moment in the school's trailblazing history.
Today's challenge with the coronavirus has no parallel. Nor does the opportunity to help students whose future hangs in the balance. At Â鶹´«Ã½ University, we will continue to develop engaged, visionary leaders with global perspectives. The world still needs visionary leaders and, right now, Â鶹´«Ã½ students need you!
To provide critically important assistance during this crisis, we have created the Â鶹´«Ã½ COVID-19 Emergency Student Relief Fund. The fund will be used to help us respond to the serious impacts of this pandemic at the University. Examples of front-line needs include support for laptops, software, and internet access as well as other tools that make online learning possible. Some students have expenses from unexpected travel and fees for cancelled plans. Many have lost jobs or experienced financial losses.
Thank you for considering a gift to the Â鶹´«Ã½ COVID-19 Emergency Student Relief Fund and for all the ways you continue to help create Â鶹´«Ã½ magic.

While we are all coping with uncertainty and working hard to be vigilant against the virus, we are confident that when we emerge from this moment we will do so with newfound strength and a deeper faith. Until we can see each other in person again, we ask that you keep Â鶹´«Ã½ in your prayers, as you are in ours.
May God continue to keep you and your family safe.
With Panther Pride,
Dr. Dwaun J. Warmack
