Mar 04, 2020

Â鶹´«Ã½ University will host the 10th Annual Men of Color Symposium on Friday, March 27, from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. in the W. V. Middleton Fine Arts Center. "Preparing the Mind, Spirit, and Body for Success" is the theme of this year's conference. Admission is free and the public is invited. Click here to register.

The Men of Color Symposium is an annual event designed to provide practical strategies and techniques that enhance the economic, educational and spiritual empowerment of males. The symposium invites male students attending high schools and colleges from across the state of South Carolina to hear renowned speakers and participate in vigorous discussions that will prepare them for transformative leadership in their respective communities.

This year's symposium will seek to examine, explore, and develop strategies for black males to succeed in a global environment. The symposium will also focus on college and high school graduation rates from African-American males and how to be successful academically, socially, spiritually, mentally, and physically. The keynote speakers for this year's symposium are Dr. Maxime Madhere, Dr. Pierre Johnson and Dr. Joseph Semien Jr., and they will speak on their journey to success as three black doctors.
