Â鶹´«Ã½ to Host The Living Legends Art Exhibition at Arthur Rose Museum

Â鶹´«Ã½ University will host The Living Legends of Art Exhibition to celebrate the Art Department's enduring legacy of producing outstanding visual artists. The exhibit can be seen through November 1 at the Arthur Rose Museum on Mondays and Thursdays between 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. The Museum is open at 9 a.m. - noon on Fridays and by appointment only on Saturdays. The exhibit and the opening reception on Thursday, September 26, are free and open to the public. The reception is scheduled for 5-7 p.m.
The exhibit will showcase the talent, creativity and inspiration of eight distinguished Â鶹´«Ã½ alumni. On display will be paintings, sculptures and other visual creations by Dr. Leo Twiggs, '56; Winston Wingo, '76; Cecil Williams, '60; Damion Johnson, '01; Floyd Gordon, '80; Patro Ulmer, '01; Raymond Floyd, '63; and Glover Richburg, '73.
Â鶹´«Ã½'s Art Department is the oldest academic art program in the state of South Carolina. The University's first art courses were initially offered in the mid-1880s. Today, the Department comprises three visual arts degree programs: Art Education, Digital Design and Studio Art.
