Â鶹´«Ã½ University to Participate in the 2017 Midland Gives day of Giving

Hosted by Central Carolina Community Foundation, Midlands Gives is a 24-hour online giving event that brings the region together as one community, raising money and awareness for local nonprofits in 11 Midlands counties. During Midlands Gives, contributions of just $20 or more are amplified through sponsored prize incentives. Since its inception in 2014 the event has raised over $3.8 million for local nonprofits. 

Â鶹´«Ã½ University has participated in this event since it began in 2014.  This year, all contributions made to the University during the 24-hour event will go to support the FOCUS 100 Scholarship Fund.   Established in 2004 by the Â鶹´«Ã½ University Board of Visitors, the FOCUS 100 Scholarship Fund provides emergency need-based assistance to students who might otherwise be forced to forfeit attending school due to short-term financial hardships.  Specifically, the FOCUS 100 Scholarship Fund provides $400 to $600 to students to assist with tuition, housing, book stipends, and other unexpected school‑related financial emergencies.  FOCUS 100 stands for Friends of Â鶹´«Ã½ University Students. The 100 denotes the minimum annual membership contribution that is requested from individuals in support of the fund.
