Â鶹´«Ã½ Ranked Among Top Ten HBCUs for the Sixth Consecutive Year by U.S. News and World Report

Â鶹´«Ã½ University’s distinguished reputation providing high-quality academic programs and graduating visionary and engaged leaders continues to earn the University national recognition. U.S. News and World Report placed Â鶹´«Ã½ ninth on its 2016 ranking of nation’s top 20 historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs). The announcement marks the sixth consecutive year that the prestigious publication has ranked Â鶹´«Ã½ among the top ten institutions.
HBCUs listed in U.S. News and World Report are compared only with each other for these rankings. In order to be on the list, a school must be currently designated by the U.S. Department of Education as an HBCU. To qualify for U.S. News rankings, an HBCU also must be an undergraduate baccalaureate-granting institution that enrolls primarily first-year, first-time students and must be a school that is part of the 2017 Best Colleges rankings.
Since 2012, U.S. News and World Report has listed Â鶹´«Ã½ as a top-tier national liberal arts university and ranked the University No.1 in alumni giving at HBCUs. Â鶹´«Ã½’s alumni giving rate of 50 percent ranks among the best at all of the nation’s colleges and universities.
