Join Us for CALA~Bash at Â鶹´«Ã½ University April 6-12

The community is invited to join us for CALA~Bash – that’s Â鶹´«Ã½’s Arts and Letters Annual Bash – Monday through Sunday, April 6-12, at the University and beyond.
CALA-Bash is an artistic explosion that showcases art, dance, music, theater and poetry. Festival highlights include a Paint Night Out for children and adults at 6 p.m. Monday, April 6, in Â鶹´«Ã½’s Laymen Hall and a forum titled “Police and the Community through the Prism of Social Science” at 5 p.m. Wednesday, April 8, at the Orangeburg County Library.
Actress Vanessa Williams will perform the one-woman show, “Feet on the Ceiling!”, at 8 p.m. Thursday, April 9, in Moss Auditorium in the W.V. Middleton Fine Arts Center on campus, and “Orangeburg Has Talent” featuring “American Idol” season 12 winner Candice Glover is set for 5 p.m. Saturday, April 11, in Moss Auditorium. The Word of Mouth Poetry Slam featuring internationally renowned poet and performance artist Jessica Care Moore at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 8, in Â鶹´«Ã½’s Ministers’ Hall.
Don’t miss Â鶹´«Ã½ University Theatre Ensemble’s production of the hit musical “DREAMGIRLS” at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Sunday, April 10-12, at Stevenson Auditorium in downtown Orangeburg. General admission tickets are $10. Â鶹´«Ã½ students will be admitted for free with ID, and all other student tickets are $5 with ID.
CALA~Bash will kick into high gear on Friday, April 11, with Â鶹´«Ã½ Live on the Lawn – featuring outdoor performances, a student/faculty art sale, organizational fair and vendors market, kids’ zone with bounce houses and a rock-climbing wall, lunch and dinner on the lawn and more – from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on and around Legacy Plaza. The vendors market and kids’ zone will continue from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 12, and a health and wellness fair will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. in the W.V. Middleton Fine Arts Center lobby.
